From the Chaplain

Mrs Teresa Kundycki-Carrell —

Kia ora Cathedral Grammar Whanau

We have much to celebrate and be thankful for.

In my role as Chaplain, I am privileged to share special moments with people. It is always a special delight when students share their love of Jesus and their joy for reading God's word. The above picture shows the items a Junior School student thought important to carry in their backpack on a recent family hiking trip. (Thank you for allowing me to share this photo.)
I am reminded of Psalm 121:

1 I lift up my eyes to the hills—
from where will my help come?

2 My help comes from the Lord,
who made heaven and earth.

Our Harvest Festival Thanksgiving focused us on being thankful for the food we have and enabled us to show our gratitude by donating food to the City Mission Food Bank. Adam, from the City Mission, joined us for this service and gratefully received our donations. Thank you for your support of this mission outreach service project.

The energy the Watoto Children's Choir brought was fantastic. Their faith in and love for Jesus was obvious on their faces, in their singing, and through their testimonies. What an amazing witness and inspiration they are, we are thankful we were able to host them. May their message inspire us in our faith journey.

We continue in the Liturgical season of Lent, the time for us to become closer to Jesus. Try setting aside some time each morning or evening to read from the Bible and/or to pray. Think about how you can help another person, then do it. Decide what you can give up and donate the money or time to help a charity such as the City Mission.

Life is full of joys as well as trials and tribulations. I am available to talk or to pray with anyone about any matter. Please either come and see me, I can be found in the Chaplain's Room in the Statham Block, or contact me on kundycki-carrellt@cathedralgrammar.school.nz to make a time to meet.

Kia manaaki te Atua kia koutou katoa - may God bless you all.
