Swimming Sports
Our Preparatory School Swimming Heats will be held on Thursday, 4 February (Boys’ School morning, Girls’ School afternoon) at Christ’s College. This event is used to time the students’ in their events, and subsequently seed them into Championship and Non-Championship races for Finals Day.
Entries for the Swim Sports have been taken by Y4-8 Home Room teachers.
Parents are welcome to attend our heats but this is not usual. The races are not seeded, and year groups and strokes can be mixed in the races which we shoot through quickly as we are only recording times, not places. Swimming Finals will be held in Week 3.
Boys’ Swim Heats: Boys’ School will be departing Grammar at 8:20am. All boys must be in school by 8.15am, changed into their togs with PE uniform and full tracksuit. Choristers will be released early from morning commitments. All boys will return to Grammar for lunch time.
Girls’ Swim Heats: Girls’ School will leave school at approx. 12.00pm and will return to school by 3.30pm. Online lunch orders will not be available for girls.
Please note the following:
· Boys should wear their togs to school, under PE gear and full tracksuit. Boys need to bring underwear to change into after swimming.
· Girls should come to school wearing their PE uniform under their full tracksuit, with their togs, etc, in their sports’ bags. They will change mid-morning.
· All students should bring in their sports’ bags to take to the pool: two towels; underwear (Boys) / togs (Girls); goggles & cap (optional and named); water bottle, snack.
· Swimming caps: whilst these are optional, caps must be worn by Girls with shoulder length hair. Grammar caps, if you would like to buy one, are available from the Uniform Shop.
Swimming Finals
We welcome parent attendance at our swimming finals
Girls’ School - Tuesday, 9 February, 9:30am-1pm
Boys’ School - Thursday, 11 February, 9am-3:30pm
Both events will be held at Christ’s College. More information and a full programme will be sent after our heats day on Thursday
Summer Sport Trials
Sport sign ups for cricket, tennis and touch were taken last week. More information about these competitions will be sent shortly
Cricket and Tennis Trials: Lunchtimes on Monday 15th and 22nd February. Cricket will have an additional trial at lunch time on Thursday 18 February. If your child has another commitment at either of these times please let me know.
Touch Trials: Lunch time this Wednesday, 3 February and this Friday, 5 February. If your child has another commitment at either of these times please let me know.
Xtend
Thank you to everyone who completed their child's xtend options so promptly! The programme begins on Friday, 19 February. A reminder that students are to wear their Maroon Polo for Xtend. These are now available from the uniform shop, which is open Mondays and Fridays in the afternoon and morning.
