Girls' & Boys' Prep School

Ms Kirsty Bond & Mr Owen Foster —

Once again, a fabulous day was had last week for our Athletic Finals’ day. Thankfully the weather played ball and we managed to get through all our events albeit finishing somewhat later than scheduled.

We are very grateful to Christ’s College for the use of their grounds for the day at such a convenient location for us. Congratulations to all the Prep School children who competed and, of course, special congratulations to each of our age-group winners, and to Connon and Hansen for winning their respective House cup. Please note the overall winner is presented to the House with the highest aggregate total.

Congratulations to our Y6 classes who sang beautifully as part of the Massed Choir at the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival last Wednesday. We also acknowledge the following pupils in special groups during the festival.

  • Katy Buttle
  • Hayley Duggan
  • Jemima Pett
  • Leeza Stewart
  • Jasmine Hooker
  • Jack Buttle
  • Sea-am Thompson

The latest instalment of Girls’ School House Hockey was held during Week I. After a very competitive competition, Connon came out on top for the overall title, winning their first House competition for the year. This week, we look forward to the House Cricket competition for both the Boys’ and Girls’ Schools.

A reminder that next week is Assessment Week. Please assist your son or daughter to spend some quiet time over the coming days, without the distraction of devices or screens, to do some preparation for these. Plenty of sleep and some exercise each day is also highly recommended. As assessments are taken during timetabled lessons, please endeavour to avoid appointments during the school day, and especially the mornings, if possible.

Cyber Safety & IT Info Evening Tomorrow

All parents are warmly invited to join us tomorrow in the hall at 7.00pm. The evening begins with a presentation from Janelle Riki-Waaka from the Learning with Digital Technologies team at CORE Education. Janelle will speak for 45 minutes.

After this, staff from Grammar and Cyclone Computers will outline key information about our Devices Programme for 2018.
