From the Principal's Desk

Mr Scott Thelning —

Dear parent,

It is likely you will have read the article in The Press on Saturday.  Thank you for the overwhelming messages of support, flowers and offers of morning tea. This is very much appreciated and gratefully received.

As the Board and I work through this at the governance and leadership levels, I have asked the staff to continue to focus on their wonderful pupils and provide a stimulating, engaging and inspiring programme. There is much to be grateful for and it is important to remember this and for the staff to continue their great work.

You will have received this afternoon a second communication from our Acting Board Chair, Hans van Schreven. The Board are united, supportive and wish to provide further opportunity for parents to discuss and understand our strategy and vision. They will continue to communicate with you as appropriate.

We have a fantastic school with a proud history and an exciting and bright future. I look forward to continuing to work with you achieving our goals and aspirations.

Congratulations to Y6 for their wonderful performance singing with the massed choir at the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival at Horncastle Arena last Wednesday. You represented our school superbly. A huge congratulations also to the talented pupils who were selected to perform each night of the festival as part of the orchestra, concert band and choirs. A fantastic achievement  and truly stunning to listen to. Thank you to you all.

Thank you to those of you who were able to attend the Athletic Sports last Thursday, it was great to see you there. I understand history shows that this is traditionally a lovely day weather-wise, it certainly has been for the last two, and a great community event with everyone coming together - Pre-School to Y8. All pupils gave their best for themselves and their Houses and it was lovely to see strong levels of sportsmanship and a caring attitude on display. Two of our values in action - Everyone matters - everyday; Fearlessly aim high and give it your best.

As always, if you have any questions, please make contact with the appropriate person.

Have a lovely fortnight.

Kind regards,

Scott
