Teresa Kundycki-Carrell —

Kia ora koutou

Over the last two weeks we have been learning about the Holy Spirit - Te Wairua Tapu and the Holy Trinity - Tapu Tuatoru.

We have talked about the Fruits of the Holy Spirit and ways we can show these in our daily lives. We also talked about how the Gifts of the Holy Spirit can help us we learn and grow.  Our virtues align with the Fruits and Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

We also talked about two symbols of the Holy Spirit - wind and fire - that were evident at the first Pentecost. To illustrate how the Holy Spirit is like wind we made paper planes a flew them. See some photos below.

The Holy Trinity  - Tapu Tuatoru, three persons one God, can be difficult to understand. We used three words to help us understand the place of each person in the Trinity - God the Father - Te Atua is OVER us; God the Son, Jesus Christ - Hehu Karaiti was WITH us, and God the Holy Spirit - Te Wairua Tapu is IN us.

Over the next few weeks we will be learning about different ways to pray.

The Virtue of the week continues to be a focus for how we interact with each other, in the classroom and in the playground, as well as in the home.

  • The Virtue for Week 6 is Love - Aroha.
  • The Virtue for Week 7 is Loyalty - Ngakau Pono.
