New Friends from Huntley School

Mrs Ella Kimber —

Huntley School from Marton, in the North Island, visited last Thursday and Friday for a sports exchange

Last Thursday afternoon Huntley School arrived at TCGS, eagerly awaiting to be billeted with our Y7/8 families before our sports exchange on Friday. During the week they had been busy playing Waihi, Craighead, Medbury, St Andrew's and St Margaret's College in Hockey, Netball, Football and Rugby, and we were the last stop on their week long tour.

Our students greeted their billets and off they went for an evening of getting to know each other. On Friday morning, we played our matches. Unfortunately the results didn't go our way, although in these exchanges the relationships we build are just as important as the results. We were pleased to be able to host Huntley School, and all involved had a great experience. We look forward to continuing our relationship with Huntley School in the future.

I would like to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to all families who opened their homes to our Huntley Billets. Without your generosity, the exchange could not have gone ahead.
