Pop Up Penguins...

Mrs Jude Gray —

The Cathedral Grammar School Art Department is proud to be involved in the second Wild in Art sculpture trail of Penguins which will be around our city from this November until January 2021.

Our penguin was delivered to the school last Friday and unveiled this afternoon at Preparatory School assembly. 8G are going to be the keepers of the penguin, planning the overall brief of how we intend to paint and decorate it. Once they have done this, Mrs. Gray will be asking interested children to submit designs that fit within the guidelines. 8G will then develop a final plan and the children whose work is selected, will paint their design onto the penguin. We hope to have many children involved in the design and painting of our penguin, and will update you on our progress over the next two months.

The last Wild in Art sculpture trail here was 'Christchurch Stands Tall' in 2014, when we painted our Pasifika Princess giraffe which resides in the school office foyer. She can't wait to have a penguin pal!!
