From the Board and Chapter
Last Saturday, 19 May, saw a combined meeting of the School Board of Trustees and Cathedral Chapter, the first such meeting for many years but certainly not the last. This was a very productive two and a half hour meeting and the following points were discussed:
- How Chapter and Board can best support each other to foster the sound governance and management of The Cathedral Grammar School whilst maintaining the school’s unique characteristics;
- The need to engage positively with the School community;
- The need for both Board and Chapter to be perceived as working together;
- The incorporation of core Anglican values of Faith, Hope and Love in everything we do;
- Continuing regular joint meetings of the two bodies;
- How Chapter, Board and Diocese interact and ensuring the school community are aware of how we operate;
- The maintenance of school traditions in a challenging and complex education environment;
Members of both Chapter and the Board appreciated this opportunity to engage and look forward to future such meetings.
