From the Chaplain

Mrs Teresa Kundycki-Carrell —

Welcome to Term IV. I trust you have had a relaxing holiday and are ready for a very busy term, with many exciting events happening in our school life.

In our RE lessons, we have been learning about the Liturgical (Church) Year and the seasons.  Each season is a time for us to think about what God has given us, and to respond to his goodness by doing things like treating others as we would like to be treated, recycling and caring for the environment, thinking about our actions and how they impact on others, and spending quiet time reflecting or praying. Through all the busy-ness,  I encourage you to find some time to be still and wonder at God's goodness to us.

We have some important Chapel services coming up. Please put the following dates in your calendars:

Sunday 9 December 10am - the Junior School will be presenting a Nativity Play at the Transitional Cathedral

Monday 10 December - Whole School Nine Lessons and Carol Service at the Transitional Cathedral.

Thursday 13 December  - Leavers' and End of Year Service at the Transitional Cathedral.

The Virtues we learn about each week help us to show our Christian Anglican Character in our relationships with others. The virtues for the first three weeks of Term IV are:

Week 1: Responsibility - Kawenga: I am responsible for how I act and react in any situation.

Week 2: Reverence - Te Whakaute: Reverence allows you to feel the presence of the creator.

Week 3: Self-discipline - Whai-aaro: Rule your mind or it will rule you. Horace.
