Concert Series

Mrs Sarah Lowe —

Last week on Tuesday night, 26 June, we held our first concert at The Piano - A Dance, Speech and Movement Celebration.

What a fantastic experience for our students, staff and parents. To come together and watch the breadth of talent shown was inspiring and motivating. Reflecting on this with an 'adult's hat' on, I think it is important to consider the work put in by each child and that the success factor is getting up and performing on stage, overcoming the fear and embracing the moment. It is a huge ask and an amazing accomplishment. From national Indian dancing to monologues, Highland and Irish dancing, karate and kapa haka. We were proud of every child who got out and presented their gifts to us. We have much to celebrate!

Tonight we have our black-tie/high fashion High Performers' Evening. This would be a great occasion to bring your family along if you are interested in seeing the amazing high-level musicians we have here at school. The talent is extraordinary and there is a fabulous breadth of music on display - voice, woodwind, strings and more! Has your child a desire to learn something 'left-field'? Come and hear the marimba and the harp! Doors will be open from 6.15pm to relax and enjoy a drink and to enjoy some musical entertainment from our itinerant teachers. Tickets are $15 and will be available as door sales (please head to the bar for this). Thank you for all you do to support the Arts at CGS.
