Ahakoa he iti he pounamu

Ms Lyndell Turner —

Nau mai hoki mai welcome back! Although it is small, it is of great value. Our youngest learners certainly are precious. We have started a large number of new tamariki into the Pre-School and our focus has been about nurturing a successful transition into our learning space, supporting their wellbeing and sense of belonging. A very special special welcome to our new families.

On our return from holiday, our swan plants were laden with caterpillars. This has led onto an inquiry into the life cycle with a room dedicated to our investigation. Last week we had 37 chrysalis and today we arrived to find 8 butterflies. The awe and wonderment of nature at its finest delighting our tamariki. On Thursday the 25th we look forward to our annual visit from Maria "The Butterfly Lady". We look forward to sharing this learning time with J1G and J1F.

Plans are underway for a celebration for Chinese New Year with 2021 being the year of the Ox. A special thanks to our whanau who have organised CZCS to come and celebrate with some singing, dancing and some food.

It is great to see everyone back. We are looking forward to another great year of learning here at preschool.
