Year 8 Boys and Girls travel to Travis Wetland

Mrs Jo Eason —

As an extension of their ecology studies the Y8 classes visited Travis Wetland to see what lives there and why.

On a beautiful spring day at the end of October, the Y8 classes enjoyed exploring the Travis Wetland that has been preserved as a haven for the birds and creatures that live in the wetland environment.

We saw various birds with their chicks and were able to observe and classify the invertebrates that live in the still, tea-coloured water. We were able to think about ways that we could be involved in taking care of our local environment. Spotting an eel was a highlight.
