Welcome back to Pre-School - Term I 2018!

How wonderful to welcome back our familiar faces and many new faces to Pre-School over the last few weeks.

This term we welcome Eddie Blackler, Jackson Wells, Harry Banbury, Doris Wang , Alexis and Charlotte Bohnenn.  We know that they will enjoy the fun that Pre-School offers to our children.

Over the last few weeks we are talking with the children about the Treaty of Waitangi and what it means to live in New Zealand.  We used this as a platform to talk to the children about the importance at Pre-School of working as part of a team. We are also going to be developing our own Pre-School Treaty!   The children helped to decorate our Pre-School Waka to show all the children and teachers 'paddling' in one direction.

Chinese New Year celebrations will begin later in the week.  The children have helped to set up the 'Cherry Blossom Restaurant' to serve up some wonderful food.  Ken Sushi kindly donated some chop sticks and take away containers to support the childrens' dramatic play.   If there are any parents who would like to do some cooking with the Pre-School over this period, please come and talk to Miss Libby.  We are hoping to take the children to see the lanterns once they are set up in Hagley Park.

The weather is still very unpredictable and we would really appreciate if all children came with sunscreen applied in the morning, a sun hat and spare change of clothes.  The children are welcome to have togs and towel in their lockers for these wonderful hot summer days.

Swimming starts on Monday 12 February.  We will be leaving Pre-School at 8:40am.  Our lesson begin at 9.00am at Aquagym, should you decide to meet us there.
