Dear CGS community

I am Peter Carrell, Bishop-elect of Christchurch and next Warden of Cathedral Grammar School from February 2019.

I am delighted to be the next Warden of CGS and look forward to supporting the school in various ways. In the last week I have attended the Operetta and the school service at the Cathedral – both wonderful events. It is my privilege to be married to your chaplain, Mrs Teresa Kundycki-Carrell, so you might see me at a few chapel services during weekdays.

Blessings, Peter

Kia ora Koutou

Thank you to those who were able to attend our School Cathedral Service on Sunday. This was a lovely service with an encouraging message from Rev Toby and beautiful music. A special thank you to those who read, prayed and welcomes people.

The Virtues continue to guide us in our interactions and make a difference in the way we treat each other.

Week 8 Virtue: Reliability - Pono: You get the best out of others when you give the best of yourself. Harvey S. Firestone.

Week 9 Virtue: Respect - Whakaute: Respect for ourselves guides our morals; respect for others guides our manners. Laurence Sterne.

On Friday, 14 September Dean Lawrence will be leading the Prep School Chapel Service, starting at 8:40am in the School Hall. The Choristers will also sing an anthem. Everyone is welcome to this, and any, Chapel Service.

If you have any questions, concerns or would just like a chat, please contact me on chaplain@cathedralgrammar.school.nz

As this is the last Grammar Notes for Term 3, I end by wishing you a safe, relaxing and enjoyable holiday.

Nga mihi nui

Teresa
