Pre-School

Ms Libby Avery —

The King is Born was beautifully performed last week for our Pre-School families and friends.

After weeks of preparation and anticipation, the day finally arrived to perform the 2017 Nativity play.  The children were simply fabulous and sang proudly the songs for the play.  After the Nativity play, the Pre-School children sang a couple of their favourite songs and rounded off with some favourite Christmas Carols.  Rev. Anne ended the service with a blessing which was wonderful, as this is often the only time our Pre-School families come together in worship.

I would like to thank the teachers for the wonderful energy and effort they put in to ensure the children really enjoyed taking part in the Nativity play and concert.

The children looked amazing in their 2017 Pre-School T-shirts which were designed especially to celebrate the wonderful year Pre-School has had in 2017 - bring on 2018!

Week VIII saw our Pre-Schoolers travel each day by bus to Graham Condon Swimming Pool, Papanui, to take part in a week-long water safety programme.  This is often the first time many of the children have been in a pool without their parents, so we were very proud of them.  Each year Pre-School swims in Terms I & IV.  Term I focuses on the lessons and Term IV is more about being safe in and around water.  The children were able to wear life jackets, use an inflatable boat and know what to do calmly if they were to fall in a pool, river or lake.  Thank you to our parent helpers who joined us during the week.

Tomorrow, we celebrate Pre-School graduation for Joshua Fletcher, Lachlan Burke, Terry Liu, Seth Knights and Sofia Sneddon.  Graduation is a wonderful celebration of the children's learning and their time at Pre-School.  We look forward to seeing as many of you there to celebrate with the children and their families.  Renee Jiang had her graduation last week , prior to heading away on her family holiday.

Reminders:

Thursday:  Pre-School children collected from the Cathedral at 12:45pm
