Junior School Book Day Fun!
What a fun day Tuesday was last week with interesting costumes everywhere.
It was exciting to see the children fully involved in their celebration of picture books and their favourite characters. In our assembly, each child shared their favourite picture book and character with the Junior School. William and Edward from the Senior Literature Quest club, came and talked about how you can turn your love of books into a winning team at the Christchurch Schools’ Literature competition, due to take place in Term 4. The boys also presented some costume certificates and watched as the whole Junior School paraded around our deck.
We had a couple of special guests read to us after morning tea and that made the day even more enjoyable. Thank you to Mr Thelning and Chaplain Teresa for entering into the spirit of the day!
We have included this week’s certificate winners in our newsletter today to share our successes. We presented these on Friday morning with the children.

With the holidays coming up, it will be a chance to check over your child’s school uniform and to make sure that all articles are named. We have a large number of pieces in lost property that aren’t named so are quite homeless. Please also check that you don’t have anyone else’s pieces of uniform in your child’s bag. It can happen very easily and can be easily fixed. A reminder that we go into summer uniform in Term 4, and we require all children to wear the school sunhat from day 1 Term 4. Thank you for your help in this.
Have a happy week,
Fiona Lill and the Junior School team.
