The benefactor’s vision for the Bernadette Trust is to assist the pastoral and spiritual development of the people, religious and priests of the Catholic Diocese of Hamilton.

In other words, it is about people-based projects and initiatives - not for administration, salaries or the construction of buildings. 

Some examples of successful bids in the past include the costs associated with running parish based programmes such as Alpha, as well as initiatives for youth and young adult formation.

Parishes are invited to apply for funding by emailing the Pastoral Services Manager at joannak@cdh.org.nz

Applications should:

• indicate the nature of the project or initiative ;

• indicate the level of support requested;

• explain how the project/initiative will enhance the spiritual or pastoral needs of the parish/community.
  

If the application is successful it is expected there would be a report to the Bernadette Trust outlining how the money was spent and on the outcome of the project/initiative. This reporting will help with on-going applications and with assessing other applications.
