Catholic Youth Office

Jil Yong —

Kia Ora Koutou. Greetings! The year 2024 has been a great one for the Catholic Youth Office.

While it has been an exciting and busy year to date, I am confident that our work is not over quite yet. This past month I began study with Encounter School of Ministries which has been a huge blessing.

Currently my team and I are working on setting a date for a Christmas Community Dinner, that this year has taken the place of our mid-winter Community Dinner. This involves haircuts, donations, and a sit down three course meal for those doing it tough.

We also have Regeneration, a day long retreat, coming up on the 4th of November for any Year 7 & 8 students. Registrations are open and while generally attended by school groups, we love to welcome those homeschooled or in state schools.

Lastly, coming up very quick is The Send on the 23 November. This is a national event where thousands of Christians are gathering at Mystery Creek for a day of praise, intercession, empowerment, and activation to bring renewal and the kingdom of God to Aotearoa in new ways. This is such an incredible opportunity and is open to all ages! We will be taking a group, so if you would like to come along please reach out to me on jily@cdh.org.nz. More info about 'The Send' can be found at thesend.org.nz
