CBHS Board of Trustees

CBHS —

Supporting Students' Success Through Strong Governance

The Board of Trustees at Christchurch Boys’ High School is committed to ensuring the school delivers a high-quality education within a clear and effective governance framework. Its focus is on supporting strong student progress and achievement, while maintaining an environment defined by high standards and strong care.

Central to the Board's focus is a clear emphasis on supporting effective teaching and on classrooms that are calm, purposeful, and challenging, where boys are expected to do things well. The Board works closely with school leadership to ensure these conditions are consistently in place across the school.

The Board operates with a clear sense of purpose, grounded in legislative requirements and best practice, and provides oversight that supports a well-led, well-organised school focused on what matters most for boys.

Board Chair Emily Flaszynski is passionate about the role CBHS plays in forming capable, well-rounded young men who are prepared to contribute positively to a changing world. The Board comprises five parent trustees, a staff trustee, a student trustee, the Headmaster, and one co-opted trustee.

There is consistently strong interest from the community in Board membership, reflecting the confidence families place in the school and contributing to the strength of its governance.

Together, the Board, leadership, and staff are deliberate in their work to develop boys who are well-educated, grounded in character, and ready to take their place in society.
