Old Boys News

Nic Hill —

Two Old Boys in the news recently have been Paul Coll (2006-'10) who has had continued success on the international squash scene, and Tom Eason Theatre (2001-'05) who has returned to Christchurch to establish a theatre company. The Headmaster recently met Martyn Milligan (1979-'83) who is a jeweller in Parapara Golden Bay and who eleven years after the event sold the Headmaster a wedding ring. The School has also received a gift of this limestone statue from Alan Chirnside.

I do encourage our Old Boys to support Tom Sidey (2004-'08). Tom has decided to compete the Hilary Ultra-marathon, an 80km race through the Waitakere Ranges. Tom has done this to raise money for the Key to Life Charitable Trust and their work around suicide prevention. The Key to Life Trust enabled Mike King to come to School in 2016 to talk with our boys and community about suicide and the importance of asking for help and we would love to have him back. Tom’s campaign can be supported at this Give a Little page.

The 2016 H.S.O.B Golf Tournament prizewinners were:

  • Old Boys Cup (Best Stableford) - Michael Bullen 41 points
  • Ray Pilkington Trophy (Runner up Stableford) - Ian Boanas 40 points
  • H.S.O.B Association Cup (Best Gross Score) - Martin Hadlee 75 gross
  • Doug Archibold Cup (Best Stableford by a member of the H.S.O.B Rugby Club) - Richard Faloon 40 points
