Monitors Camp 2018

Nigel Vernon —

The purpose of the Monitor Camp was to bond together the boys to become a highly functioning team and to be able to take on the challenges of the role in 2019.

The boys left from school on Thursday 6th December and traveled by Mini Van to Kidson Hut near Arthurs Pass, stopping on route at the memorial of Rewi Alley in Sheffield,  to reflect on the contribution of one our most significant Old Boys.

The training took place under the supervision of Mr Vernon, Mr Dunnett, Mr Coady, Mr Thompson and Mrs Smith. Throughout the two days the monitors  were asked to complete a number of activities that included,  community service, shelter building, making connections, problem solving and a rogaining. The students selected to take part in the camp found it extremely rewarding and a lot of fun.
