Building update from Christchurch Boys' High School
The Master Plan has been updated based on the current funding allocation from the Ministry of Education. The diagram above gives a good visual representation of what the school will look like in the future.
The Caddick and Caldwell Blocks are on track to be completed by 1 December next year and will be used for teaching at the start of 2021.

The Straven Block which is the temporary classroom block at the front of the school has been a great success with staff and students at Christchurch Boys' High School. It has enabled the continuation of quality teaching and learning through the build process.
The Main Block is scheduled for refurbishment in 2021. We are looking forward to the Ministry of Education funding for this project.
J Block which Christchurch Boys' High School refers to as Room 26, (the old Art / Woodwork room over the river) is scheduled for demolition in early February next year. This will be replaced by a purpose-built bike enclosure to provide a safe area for students biking to school to store their bike during the school day and link up safely with the Christchurch City Council’s extensive cycle network around the city. The picture below shows what this will look like. The school is excited that many of the old bricks and cobblestones recovered from the recently restored Deans Stables will be preserved by being included within this bike enclosure design.
Canteen / Tuckshop – Starting in June 2020 there will be a new Tuckshop complex, café, and additional Food Technology classroom being completed adjacent to the Big Room. This work is scheduled for completion at the end of 2020 and will be operational at the start of 2021.
Provision has also been made for a future
