CBHS Strategic Outcomes

Dave Bone —

Sport is an important part of the CBHS experience with ākonga having the opportunity to participate and/or excel in many sporting codes, under the guidance and mentorship of around 60 coaches.

Sport provides an excellent opportunity for students to mix with those from other year levels, build resilience, grit and determination, and make new friends. While many students get involved in sport to improve their skills and aim for the highest of honours, others just appreciate the opportunity to be connected with their peers and achieve some balance in their busy lives.

Below is a summary of the strategic plan for CBHS sport which is framed around four outcomes: Commitment, Bravery, Honesty and Service.  All that we do in sport at CBHS should be connected to and reflect these outcomes:

CBHS has clear expectations regarding the behaviour of those in our school community. These are reflected in our values, which underpin the Christchurch Boys’ philosophy and are reinforced in the school policies.

Commitment: Reliable-Resilient-Responsible-Resolve
Bravery: Gratitude-Risk Taking-Integrity-Trust
Honour: Respect-Unity-Legacy-Earned
Service: Compassion-Community-Charity-Care
