Boys' High getting Bellyful

Bellyful Christchurch —

Once a month on a Saturday morning the CBHS Food Tech rooms are used by Bellyful Christchurch. Bellyful supports families with newborn babies and those young families struggling with illness without other support. We deliver, free of charge, around 200 meals to approximately 40 families every month.

So each month a team of about 10 volunteer ladies arrive around 8am, don their aprons, switch on their frying pans and cook up large for 3 hours. The meals (toddler friendly macaroni cheese, bolognese sauce and lasagne) are then frozen and stored in the Bellyful freezers ready to be distributed by volunteers to families all over Christchurch.

Bellyful Christchurch would like to acknowledge the support of Christchurch Boys' High School, in particular Mrs Milner and Mr Dunnett, in enabling us to use this fantastic facility. Without the support of businesses, schools and other community groups we would not be able to provide this free service to Christchurch families. Thank you Boys' High!
