Pithie Takes Another Title

Christine Todd —

Year 9 Laurence Pithie has won yet another National Title. This time Pithie combined his talents on the bike with his undoubted running ability to win the recent National Secondary Schools Duathlon in Auckland.

Laurence travelled to Auckland to compete in the National Secondary Schools Duathlon Champs. With a strong field there were 5 competitors in the front bunch at the end of the run, including a girl. At the end of the bike the field was strung out. Laurence went into the final run in the lead and took out the title. He was followed by fellow competitor Abe O’Donnell from Ashburton College.
