Building update at Christchurch Boys' High School
Craig Dunnett - June 17, 2019
If you would like to see what these new buildings are going to be like click here.
Important points for the community to note, (refer to diagram below).
· The red line represents an external hoarding around the whole building site
· Access through the site past the Guidance Centre to Kahu Road for vehicles has been cut off
· There is a path for students as shown by the purple line below
· Contractors will be entering the building site through gates 1 & 2. These will be power actuated gates with rams which when opened will close of the school access path.
· Gate 3 will only be used by agreement with CBHS and out of hours (0700-1600)
· Gates will have signage and audible / visual warning of gate operation
· There will be a number of ‘viewing portholes’ included in the fence for school viewing of site
I have talked to the whole school in assembly about Health & Safety, in particular around the contractor’s access points of Kahu Road and the importance of being extra vigilant with large vehicles entering the site. It would be appreciated if parents / caregivers could reinforce this message at home as well.
Both blocks and associated landscaping will be completed by December 1 next year and will be fully operational for students at the start of 2021.
Regards,
Craig Dunnett
