PINK SHIRT DAY - FRIDAY 16 MAY 2025
On Friday 16 May CBHS is involved in the National Pink Shirt Day. Friday is still a CBHS uniform day.
You may swap out your grey shirt for a pink shirt or t-shirt OR wear a pink hat/beanie/scarf/hoodie over your day uniform etc. But you need to wear all other items of your uniform - shirts/socks/shoes etc.
It is not a full mufti day, only a Pink Shirt day.
Please bring a gold coin donation to support the continual work of 'Pink Shirt' in educating and resourcing kura and work places across the motu.
Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness.
It’s about creating a community where all people feel safe, valued and respected, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, religion or cultural background.
Pink Shirt Day is the day we come together to take a stand against bullying.
The Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand (MHFNZ) has run the campaign since 2012, inspiring tangata to Kōrero Mai, Kōrero Atu, Mauri Tū, Mauri Ora – Speak Up, Stand Together, Stop Bullying!
Thanks to Pink Shirt Day donations we will:
Reach kura/schools across the motu, providing them with the tools to teach tamariki and kaiako/teachers about the impact of bullying, and how to create a culture of kindness.
Provide workplaces with access to free tools to help them build positive environments and prevent bullying, all year round.
Continue to build a movement of Upstanders – people who use words and actions to help someone being bullied.
Fund InsideOUT to provide free support to rainbow rangatahi in schools across Aotearoa.
