Lipsync 2022

Ollie Hollows —

Lipsync is an annual arts and cultural Christchurch Girls' High event that features talent from both schools.

On Thursday last week Christchurch Girls' High School hosted their annual 'Lipsync' contest, which is always a fantastic night. This year did not disappoint, with CBHS hall hosting over 15 acts in the evening with a variety of performances from CGHS students and staff.

The CBHS Monitors were lucky enough to perform their long-awaited act, which has been in the work for weeks. Thanks to Miss Chloe Anngow, the monitors have been learning an exquisitely choreographed dance mix, partnered with tunes from the 2000s. The highlight of which had to be either Jack Prebble's beautiful rendition of Adele's 'Someone Like You' or senior monitor Ollie Burra being launched into the air upon the last note of 'Let's Get It Started'.

In the penultimate act, they raised the roof and thrilled the crowd. However, in the end were trumped by the CGHS Prefects in a decision so close that the judges later admitted it could have been a draw.

Rest assured the 2023 Monitors will come back to take the crown, but for now, Girls' High can enjoy the limelight. And a big thank you has to go to them for organising the night! It was a blast.

Lipsync Monitors vs CBHS Staff

After their win against CGHS prefects, the boys will be challenged into a second competition vs the CBHS staff this Friday's assembly.
