College Day Details

Steve Fraser —

The annual interschool 1st XV match between Christ’s College and Christchurch Boys’ High School takes place next Thursday, 2nd June. The game kicks off at 2:40pm at the Christ’s College Upper ground and will be televised live on the SKY Rugby Channel.

The day’s programme at school will be:

8:40am – College Day Assembly in the Big Gym.
This will feature members of the 1st XVs of 1956, 1966, 1976 and 1991, as well as parents and other Old Boy reunion groups. The 2016 team will be presented with their caps in front of the guests, and Years 9, 12, 13. (Note this is a change to the usual assembly day for Years 12 and 13).

Normal classes will be run from 9:00am until 1:25pm (periods 1-4) when school will finish for the day. Those boys going to the game will have lunch and then meet in the Big Gym at 1:45pm. Other boys not attending the game will go home.

All school bags will be left in the Gym – it will be locked and supervised –and all boys will be bussed to the game at College. PLEASE NOTE – only boys on the buses will be allowed into the grounds.

During the game, boys are expected to follow the instructions of staff at all times.

At the end of the game, buses will ferry boys back to school (from about 4:20pm) to collect their bags and return home.

We ask that all boys intending to go to the game are in FULL school uniform (including jerseys for juniors) and that they have a school jacket (or similar) to wear for warmth. It has turned cold lately!

The boys will also be reminded of the standards of behaviour expected before, during and after the game as it is not only the 1st XV members who are representing the school on College Day.
