We have just learnt that one of our former students, Gene Weston died yesterday. Gene left Christchurch Boys' High School in May of 2018.

Gene was a well-loved member of the Christchurch Boys' High School community. Gene was working full time in the hospitality industry. He was skilled in hands-on work.

Gene had also studied at Ara while at school and was intending to continue with electrical technology which he was passionate about.

Gene has strong family support and some very close friends at School. He loved being part of Boys’ High.

Our hearts go out to Gene’s family.

We are doing all we can to support everyone who has been affected by this tragedy.

Members of the Boys’ High community can access support from the Guidance Centre or by contacting the head of Guidance Micha Multhaup on MulthaupM@staff.cbhs.school.nz. There will be a space provided for students to support each other at school.

The school is being supported by the Ministry of Education.
