Learning Support Lose a Gem

Alix McConnochie —

It is with a heavy heart that I bid adieu to a colleague and now dear friend, Lynne Lochhead.

Lynne started in Learning Support in 2004 and what a find! Lynne came to us with a PHD, BA, a Masters in Science and a Law Degree with Honours. She very quickly got to work and started to work her magic with the boys who struggled. She had a very good grasp on Dyslexia as her own son is a severe Dyslexic who couldn’t read.

Lynne doesn’t beat around the bush with any issue. It is straight to work and let’s help this boy. She has a very dry sense of humour which often had us all in Learning Support in hysterics. Her quiet way and not so quiet way at times made sure things were done.

Lynne has spent hours of her own time looking up sites for the boys to use, especially free ones and they are all to be found on the Learning Support Wiki. These are amazing and so helpful to our boys who need it.

Lynne can be very stubborn! She has been known not to go home until she has finished with something, especially something that has gotten the better of her.

Lynne, we are all going to miss you and wish you all the very best with Ian and in trips to Melbourne.
