Christchurch Boys' High Rowing is now taking registrations for the 2016-17 season. Upon registration you will receive information on key dates for regattas and camps planned for the season. 

There will also be an open day on Sunday 11th September where boys new to the sport can try it out before they fully commit. Boys will then be asked whether or not they want to commit to the sport after this open day. By registering you will be added to the email list and receive all information prior to this open day and the start of the season. 

Although most rowers take up the sport in Year 9, anyone in any year group is eligible to start rowing at any time. All regattas, including the Maadi Cup Regatta (NZ Secondary Schools) have a “novice” category. This is where boys who start rowing from Year 10, 11 or 12 compete against other novice rowers throughout the country. It appears to be a common misconception that you cannot start late, but in fact you can and many successful rowers start later in their time at school.
