NCEA Common Assessment Activities - Literacy and Numeracy
In Week Four of this term, we are running the Common Assessment Activities for Literacy and Numeracy. These assessments involve students in Years 11-13 who have not yet achieved their co-requisites. Students who are involved in these assessments will have received an email from Ms Pearson, and they will also have been informed by their classroom teacher. The key dates for these assessments are listed below:
Reading – Wednesday, 21 May. The exam will start at 11:00 am.
Writing – Thursday, 22 May. The exam will start at 11:30 am.
Numeracy, Friday, 23 May. The exam will start at 11:30 am
The assessments are designed to take one hour; however, there is no time limit placed on the assessments.
If your child is involved in these assessments, he will need to ensure that he has logged into the NZQA website with his username and password and familiarised himself with the NZQA platform, as this exam will be an online examination. He will also be able to access previous exams by clicking on the "Past Digital Exams" tab. Please note that past papers will not be accessible from 19 May until 30 May.
The night before the exam, your child must ensure that he has completed the following:
turned notification off on his device
disabled updates
disabled his screensaver
set his screen resolution to a minimum of 1366 x 768 pixels
ensured that Chrome 130+ has been installed as a browser, or if they are using a Mac - Safari (Mac), version 13+
fully charged his device
Your child can check whether his device meets the specifications by clicking on this link.
On the day, we will have some backup devices available if your child runs into problems with his device.
