Christchurch Boys’ High School has a proud tradition of successful achievement at both local and national level in football.

The 1st XI competes in the Canterbury Secondary Schools’ Championship which is held on Wednesday afternoons/evenings. Upon successful qualification the 1st XI will compete in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Premiership in August. To be eligible for the 1st XI you do not have to play for the school on a Saturday but this is encouraged to support our club programme.

Our Saturday teams compete in the Mainland Football club competition in the 14th, 15th, 17th and 19th grades. These teams are open to all boys wanting to play for the school. Teams are generally of mixed ability and are run by volunteer coaches and managers.
