eLearning in Action

Elise Wright —

This month we find out how Elise Wright has been integrating eLearning into her teaching in French

9BRS is a French class where all the students bring their own laptop to class each day. They complete most of their work on it, but we still use pen and paper too, especially to practise spelling and writing.

With the use of a computer, students have access to a much greater variety of resources such as Kahoot, Quizlet, and listening exercises. They can listen to a recording from a French person and compare it to their own pronunciation. They can work at their own pace and repeat an exercise if they need to. Students have discovered for themselves how they can present their work better, including putting French accents on letters and making use of colour and images.

As a teacher, I have instant access to every student’s work. Students who are away do not have to miss out on learning, they still have access to all the work given by the teacher, and I can help them even when they are not at school.
