Visit this articleSouthern Youth Jam Jazz Festival is a 4 day long Secondary School Jazz Music Competition / Festival held each year in early Term 3, in Blenheim. The CBHS Jazz groups competed this year playing some of the toughest music they had encountered and they did exceptionally well. 2016 saw the biggest festival yet, with 17 different schools from around the South Island vying for Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards along with individual honours as well.

This event is held annually and CBHS has, in the past, sent teams to compete. The trip was planned for 2015 however with Miss Todd being unwell it was postponed . Sadly a hip replacement just a week out for Coach Todd meant that she was unable to join us as planned.
