Matt Malone
I am excited to be working in the Kāhui Raki (Northern) Hub as a new across school lead teacher. The Kāhui Ako enables our Catholic schools to work more closely and to share both our challenges and successes so that educational outcomes can be enhanced for all our students.
I have worked as a secondary teacher at St Bede’s college since 2007 and have experience as a HOF since 2010. During 2020 I was fortunate to gain a Teach NZ study award which enabled me to complete a Master of Education (MEd) at Canterbury university. This study has given me a much clearer understanding of current research in the field of educational leadership and I am looking forward to sharing both my leadership learning and experiences within our community.
I consider myself very fortunate. Fortunate to have an incredibly supportive wife Anna and four beautiful daughters, but also fortunate to work as a Catholic educator. This vocation is so important in our world today and has given me the privilege and opportunity to support some amazing young people as they develop their God given gifts and talents and grow in faith and character.
I am looking forward to being able to support the work of an amazing group of teachers and principals within our Kāhui Raki (Northern) Hub in this great undertaking.
