Megan Martin —

Hi I'm Megan Martin. My Learning Achievement areas are Wellbeing (Hauora) and Transitions and I work closely with Danielle.

I come from an awesome little town called Waimate which is otherwise known as the 'center of the south Island'. I feel fortunate to have grown up in a rural environment and cherish the experiences of: training race horses; running up and down mountains; working in shearing sheds; along with overseas experiences such as combine harvesting through the USA and driving tractors and getting my big truck license.

My teaching career started in Wellington where I taught at Wellington Girls' College and Queen Margaret College. Then about 11 years ago I moved to Christchurch with my family and have been teaching at Marian College ever since. I'm a passionate and enthusiastic teacher whose area of specialisation is Physical Education and Health. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work in this role.

I have created a website platform called www.liveuptoyou.org where I share resources, ideas and concepts around wellbeing. In response to COVID-19 the ‘Live Up’ COVID Community was set up to support our communities with practical wellbeing resources that can be used for these extraordinary circumstances of social distancing, community lockdown and quarantine. This resource has been made from contributions from many people who have shared ideas, resources and strategies and is based around the '5' Ways to Wellbeing.
