Megan Martin —

Tēnā koutou katoa. Ko Ngā Whakarekareka o Tamatea Pokai Whenua te māunga. Ko Ōpāwaho te awa. No Ōtautahi au. Ko Paul O’Connor tōku ingoa and it is my honour to work as a within school teacher for the Central Hub of the Catholic Kāhui A

Professionally I have been teaching since 2013, with the majority of my career spent at Catholic Cathedral College. I have also spent time teaching at Saint Joseph’s in Samoa, as well as working as a relief teacher across a wide range of our Catholic primary schools. Relationships are at the heart of my teaching philosophy, and in this I am guided by the words of Saint Marcellin Champagnat: “To raise children properly, we must love them and love them equally.”

Personally I consider myself a lifelong learner and am always interested in trying new things and learning new skills. I am passionate about playing and listening to all kinds of music. Outside of school if I am not practicing bass guitar, I am most likely jogging, training for an upcoming race. Finally if I have any spare time left at the end of the day I try and squeeze in some reading time. Easier said than done!

I appreciate the opportunity to serve the Central Catholic schools community and am looking forward to expanding me and my colleagues' capacity for developing student’s literacy.

No reira,

Tēnā koutou katoa.
