What's happening for our Student Wellbeing Teams?
On Tuesday, August 8th we held our first Christchurch Catholic Kāhui Ako Student Wellbeing Forum.
This was a chance for our students to connect and share ideas around what has been happening in the area of wellbeing in our schools. Many thanks to Paul Burton from St Thomas who hosted the morning. We had 6 of our schools attend: Marian College, St Thomas of Canterbury College, St Annes, St Marys, Our Lady of Assumption and Catholic Cathedral. The event was supported by our Mana Ake team and Richard Wisnesky (Health Promoter, Community and Public Health). It was fantastic how the older students looked after the younger students throughout the morning. The students have been involved in diverse projects depending from whole school mindfulness through to wellbeing homework through to trying to ‘disconnect to reconnect’ initiatives. In 2020, the Kāhui Ako will host another Student Wellbeing Forum in Term 1 and then a Wellbeing Team Expo in Term 3 where the students can share their work around wellbeing with other schools.
