The Egg Project

CNS —

Would you consider buying your eggs from The Egg Project so that you can support us at the same time?

Welcome back to Term 3! I hope you all had a cracking good break and are ready to take on the new term with plenty of energy (and maybe a few omelettes).

Just a gentle peck (see what I did there?) to remind you to get your egg orders sorted for the term ahead. If you had a subscription running, I’ve already sorted it at my end—so you’re good to go! If you paused your subscription for the holidays, you’ll need to get it up and running again, or just flick me a text and I’ll get it sorted faster than a chicken can spot a worm.

A massive thank you for all your support so far—you’re the reason we are clucking with pride and our community is thriving.

So why choose The Egg Project?

  • Our eggs are so much cheaper than the equivalent at the supermarket (just $0.79 each for Free Range Size 7—compare that to $0.99, $0.96, and $1.06 at the big stores!).

  • In most cases they are cheaper than both Barn and Colony Cage systems, which are both the ones where the chickens never see outside.

  • They’re fresher (eggs get a 35 days BB date from lay, most in the supermarket will have a lot less than this)…. Local – our eggs are produced here in the Manawatu and genuinely free-range.

  • We do a huge amount of good, giving back and supporting the community (to date, Central Normal has fundraised $1,174 just by eating eggs!).  Since we started in 2019, our little business, which is only me and 3 part time staff, have given back over $120,000.00 to our fundraising groups and so many other community groups and initiatives…. We think that is pretty cool.  For me, its not about the money, its about making a difference!

The more people who order, the more the school benefits (and the more delicious breakfasts you all get).  Really once up and running, all you have to do is eat eggs, and most people do that anyway!

How to order:

  • Jump onto the website www.theeggproject.co.nz

  • Click up the top on the blue bit where it asks if you have a unique code.

  • Use the code SCH-017 at to sign up, select what eggs you want as a one off or set up a subscription, confimr and pay.

  • If you need help with anything—ordering, subscriptions, or just want to talk eggs—flick me an email. I’m just sitting here chatting with the eggs anyway (they’re great listeners, but not so hot on tech support).

Eggs can be picked up from the school office each Thursday.
