Our members in Central Otago

Jean Morgan —

We grow in Cromwell, Clyde, Alexandra, Pisa, Bannockburn, Lake Dunstan, Springvale, Te Anau, Arrowtown and Tarras.

During 2023 Central Otago Olive Growers group has been active and growing, welcoming a number of new members.

The Community Pressing Day 2023 in May was another great success - and we won another silver medal for this year's pressing at the recent NZ Olive Awards.

That makes it our third silver award after last year' silver medal, which is great for our region, and community.

After a recent committee meeting group have come up with a plan for the future events over the next year as follows:

  • The Olive Long Lunch – February 10, at Airport Road, Alexandra

  • Community Pressing Day – 18 May 2024 (Reduced entry cost for members)

  • Professional Oil Tasting - June

  • AGM/Field Day/ Pruning – 6 September

  • Another Social event – Winter

We have kept our annual subscription rate at $50 per grove.

We would welcome more members to our group so we can continue to grow.

If you’re interested please complete the attached form. It doesn’t matter to us how many trees you have - we are just looking for more members who are passionate and/or curious about olives, trees, extra virgin olive oil or all of the above!

Also - we’ve just secured better pricing for COOG members. They can get the Olive Mix and other fertilisers at trade price at Horticentre in Pinot Noir Drive, Cromwell - just another reason to join!

If you have any questions, please let me know, otherwise we will be back in touch with more details to follow on what we’re up to.
