Junior Speech Competition
We are excited to share the events from the Junior Speech Competition that happened on Wednesday, September 13th, during periods 2 and 3. Our Year 9 and 10 students had the chance to show off their speaking skills, thanks to the English Department.
Our Year 9 and 10 students talked about a wide range of things. From strawberry milk to freedom of speech, they showed their creativity and knowledge. In the Year 10 competition, Kirsten Kean and Brendon Wallace served as judges. They had the tough job of picking the winners from the great speeches. For Year 9, Brendon Wallace was joined by a special guest judge, Vanessa Jarman. Together, they evaluated the speeches from their unique perspectives.
Here are the results of the Junior Speech Competition:
Year 9:
First Place: Sienna Breen
Second Place: Hayden Wang
Third Place: Drew Anderson-Kereti
Year 10:
First Place: Frinz Catli
Second Place: Kenny Hart
Third Place: Alfie Cowie and Tessa Burgess
We want to thank all the students who took part in the Junior Speech Competition. Your enthusiasm made it a big success. And thanks to our judges for their help, and to our staff for supporting our young speakers.
