Congratulations to our Show Quest team, coming second in Otago/Southand and also nationally winning the "Best Theme" award! To top it off they received recognition from our Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, who sent them a letter praising their work and effort, impressed at what a moving and powerful performance it was. You can read this letter further on in the newsletter.  It is great to receive acknowledgement of this kind - a real credit to our students and performing arts team. They are currently in full swing again, rehearsing for our end of term production.

Noela Irwin will be known to many in our school and in our community.  Noela has been the mainstay in our canteen for 37 years, and was a first day pupil herself in 1965. She also contributes in so many other ways around the school. Noela has called it a day at the canteen, and I wish to acknowledge the years of loyal service she has provided for our school and our students. Serving food is one thing, but to cheerfully provide a service to our students day in and day out, is another and Noela made this her main business. She loves the interactions with the students, will go out of her way to help others, and always maintains positive conversations with everyone.

As a staff we were always spoiled by her catering expertise when we had a shared dinner or a special morning tea, Noela would never stick to her budget and would always go above and beyond. We are fortunate that she will still be working with us in other areas such as camps and catering. So while this is a farewell message - I look forward to our continued relationship. Noela, thank you for all you have done for CSC.
