2022 CSC Ball a Huge Success!
The night was cool, but the events on the night all ran to plan and were enjoyed by all. There is a reason the CSC Ball is the highlight of the Ball Season!
On Friday 17th of June, our Year 12 & 13 students got the chance to experience a special night of fun, dancing and glamour!
A cloud has hung over this event since it was postponed in Term 1, so it was amazing to finally get the night organised. Having a winter date made for a few challenges (it was a pretty cold night!) but these were overcome through the fantastic efforts of the organising committees.
While the Year 12 and 13 Deans oversee the organisation, it is the students that do the mahi and make the evening a huge success. A large number of students were involved in some aspect of organisation, with a few students taking the lead for each event on the night.
This year, the cars dropping students off were parked up at school for people to come and look at while the Ball Gown Parade was on. This was a great option, especially for those that missed out on tickets to this event.
The Ball Gown Parade was a success, with students walking the runway to show off in front of a sold-out crowd in the school hall. There was some breathtaking fashion on show, with varying levels of comfort shown on the catwalk!
The ball itself, at the Memorial Hall, was memorable for many reasons - the music (CSC is the band's favourite), the substantial grazing table and of course the dancing. The band mixed up new and old music and got the crowd going with both organised and freestyle dancing!
A huge thank-you goes out to Mr Meechang and Mrs Ballantyne for the ballroom dancing lessons, Mrs Johnstone and Miss Harrison for their support as Deans, the committee leaders (Mekenzie Allan, Emma Cochran, Briar Irwin and Kyla Wilson) for their hard work and leadership, the students, parents and staff who helped out either on the night or in the build up.
The bar has been set very high for next year's ball!
