POB Small Bore Shooting Trip

Kayla McGregor & the Pushing Our Boundaries Committee —

On the 9th and 11th of August, two groups of Year Nine students participated in the Pushing Our Boundaries - Small Bore Shooting trip at the Oreti Hall.

The goal was to try and hit a target card about 25m away as close to the bull's eye as possible with a set amount of bullets. Shooters get points based on the proximity of the shot to the bullseye. Everybody participated in one round, and the four students with the highest score progressed to the final.

We saw a lot of participation, effort, support, and overall there were some fantastic results with Ruby Diack as the top student shooter. Seeing many Year 9s out there giving it a go was fantastic.

A big thank you to the Year 13 helpers and teachers that made this event possible. As well as a massive thank you to Helen, Norman and Peter McLeish for hosting this fun event and teaching us about gun safety.
