The year 9 Netball team had a great season in term two, finishing strongly in both the Southland and South Island Secondary Schools Tournaments.

The girls comfortably won the Y9 Southland Secondary Schools Tournament in Invercargill. This result increased the teams confidence ahead of the South Island Secondary School Junior Netball Tournament in Christchurch. After snow delayed our departure from Winton we finally arrived at Christchurch Girls Hostel to stay alongside the CSC Y10 team. The following day the girls began their competition in a very difficult pool against some of the strongest netball schools. They all played very well and were able to progress through day one into the top 16. Day two was another testing day for the team but all nine of the girls played their hearts out in some hard fought games to make it through to the top eight. A very tired but happy team finished the tournament on day three in fifth place in the A Grade Competition. The girls had a lot of fun on and off the court.
