See the following attachment for a scholarship that is available for students and young adults from the Browns Athletic Society.

Purpose:

▪ The Scholarship is intended to aid the advancement of young people in their sport which

has common interests with the Browns Athletic Society.

Intended Recipients:

▪ The Scholarship would be available for any person 12 - 21 years to advance their proficiency in

their sport which would be one of the disciplines promoted by the Browns Athletic Society,

including but not limited to: Track and Field Athletics, Track or Road Cycling, Bushcraft.

▪ In special circumstances an application would be considered for a club or team with the

above objectives, for a special project or activity they are planning.

Eligibility:

▪ Residents of Southland

▪ Between the ages of 12 and 21 when the Scholarship is awarded

▪ Any application from a club or team must be for the benefit of their members in the 12 – 21

age group.

Applications:

▪ All applications will be will be in writing on the form supplied by the Society. ▪

Applications will close on the 20th January 2024.

Selection:

▪ A panel of five members from the Browns Athletic Society will select the recipient. If they

deem it worthy more than one Scholarship may be awarded with a maximum of $1,000.00

awarded each year. The winner must be able to attend the Sports Day.

Presentation:

▪ Any Scholarship will be presented at the Annual Sports Meeting.
