Rockclimbing Camp
We got bruised, cut, stung, we cried, were chased by a sea lion and had to get out of bed early but wow did we have a great time on Rockclimbing Camp.
On the 1st of May, one of the two year 13 PE classes headed on a roadie to Dunedin to show off their climbing skills. The first day was spent at the Port Chalmers Rhododendron Dell practicing some of our climbing, safety and belaying techniques. We also had the opportunity to do a massive abseil down a 50m high cliff which was super scary but a huge achievement for those that did it. The second two days were spent at Long Beach where we got to try heaps of different climbs of varying difficulty. Each of us found our own challenges and worked hard to advance our skills or conquer our fears. Big thanks to Mrs Halder, Becca and Mrs Black for taking us away. If you get the chance to have a go at rockclimbing definitely give it a go - it's pretty awesome.
