Work Ready Passport - Year 10

The Work Ready Passport is a program run by Great South which is a six lesson program where students identify their skills and interests to help them make better informed career decisions. They also learn about the importance of budgeting and personal well being in the workplace as well as engaging with employers from around Southland. They also attended a one day workshop facilitated by Paul Nicholson exploring key employability skills, some even had a go at walking on glass! If students completed most of the modules and the workbook they received a certificate.

SIT Taster Days

On Thursday 17 and Friday 18 November STAR funding will pay for all Year 10 students to attend the Southern Institute of Technology for the days to participate in Taster Programmes. The students have been given a list of classes offered by SIT to choose from. The students will travel by bus to SIT and participate in a variety of classes. From past experience and comments from students, they have gained much from attending these Taster courses and have thoroughly enjoyed their day.
